Flor Coffee and Books

Georgetown, Washington DC

The wife and I took a quick trip into Georgetown just to get out. I found this coffeeshop on a little side street and thought we would give it a try. They advertise as being a Buenos Aires inspired cafe. I've never been to Argentina, but I liked Flor. It was crowded, but it was also a Saturday in Georgetown. The main level was the register and bar. Upstairs they had communal seating with a wall of books for sale; mostly in Spanish.

I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk and the wife got a chai latte with oat milk. My cappuccino was very good, no notes. It was a perfect coffee flavor and great foam to milk ratio. The wife's chai latte was fine. The chai flavors were very mellow so it mostly tasted like a warm oat milk beverage with a slight hint of spices. We also each ordered an empanada. They were baked and very tasty.
